James Alexander Cordy (UNSC)
University of Washington
Fourth-Year StafferJames Alexander Cordy, or just Alex, is a recent Political Science graduate from the University of Washington, Seattle. He started his Model United Nations experience in his first year of high school, having attended PacMUN three times as a delegate, and another three times as a chair after graduating. He will be returning this year to chair the UNSC after a brief break from MUN. Past studying politics, Alex enjoys skateboarding, playing lots of Stardew Valley, or going to concerts, such as My Chemical Romance and Pierce the Veil.

David Phipps (UNSC)
De Anza College
Fourth-Year StafferDavid Phipps is a fifth-year at De Anza College studying Mathematics. This is his ninth year of Model United Nations, between 4 as a delegate and now 5 as a chair. Attended conferences like NHSMUN, SCVMUN, BMUN and PacMUN during high school. On the staffing front, alongside chairing for the third time at NHSMUN this yearm, this will be his 4th year staffing PacMUN. Besides that, he swims competitively and enjoys watching Netflix, petting his cat Uma or playing games with friends in his downtime.

Benjamin Phipps (JCC)

Fourth-Year StafferBenjamin Phipps is a fourth year student at the University of California Davis, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Human Rights and Anthropology. He participated in Model UN all throughout high school, also taking on various administrative roles within the club. In his free time, Benjamin is a musician with a beat tape called “Bad Therapy” released on SoundCloud under the name Psue Donim in January 2025, with much more music coming later this year. This will be his 6th PacMUN (3 as a delegate and 3 as a director) and he is very excited to meet all of you wonderful delegates this year! Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Emily Heyler (USMT)

Fourth-Year StafferEmily Heyler is a fourth-year at Gettysburg College, double majoring in Political Science and Public Policy with a focus on American government and International Relations. Originally from Hawai‘i, Emily has interned with Congressman Ed Case, the House Appropriations Committee, and Cornerstone Government Affairs, fueling her passion for public service. On campus, she serves as President of the Panhellenic Council, Program Chair for the Eisenhower Institute, and is a proud member of the Delta Omicron Chapter of Tri Sigma. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new coffee shops and spending time with friends.

Luka Wohl (HAWAI'I)

Third-Year StafferLuka Wohl is a recent graduate of Georgetown University with a Bachler’s Degree in International Relations and Business. Hailing from Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i, has a strong passion for international affairs and cross-cultural understanding, primarily driven by his involvement in Model United Nations in high school. This curiosity led him to embark on life-changing experiences abroad, spending a year in India and studying in Israel-Palestine for two years, which ignited his desire for diplomatic endeavors. During his time in the nation's capital, he has gained valuable internship experience at both USAID and the U.S. Department of State.

Second-Year StafferRashid Jeff Bernard Araula or JB is a third-year student the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. He double majors in Political Science and Filipino Arts, Language, and Culture. He is finishing up his final semester, while working as staff for Congresswoman Jill Tokuda of Hawai'i's Second Congressional District. He has a burning passion for politics and policy, ignited by his years of experience in Model UN as both a delegate and a chair. If he isn't doing either, you'll catch him playing video games or boogieboarding Kaua‘i's various shores.

Second-Year StafferYazan Elayyan is fifth-year at San José State University studying Political Science. Yazan is a graduate of Santa Teresa High School where in he participated in Model UN throughout his time there, taking part in conferences like SCVMUN, BMUN and PacMUN. In his free time, Yazan serves as a recreational leader for the City of San Jose, is a founder, owner and commissioner for a Bay Area adult basketball league known as Majestic Hoops and is self-described entrepreneur.

Avril Amendola (CHILE)

Second-Year StafferAvril Amendola is a third-year at the University of California, Davis majoring in International Relations and Environmental Policy. She has been a part of PacMUN since her freshman year as a delegate and a director. Avril has been a committee director for SCVMUN and PacMUN for multiple years, and she’s exited to return as a crisis director for this year’s spec-historical crisis. Outside of MUN Avril likes to travel, go to concerts, hang out at the beach and stay updated on current events. Most importantly she’s excited to share her experiences with all of you (delegates)!

Connor Davidson (HAWAI'I)

Second-Year StafferConnor Davidson is a second-year student at the University of California, Los Angeles who was born and raised in Hawaii Kai. He will be serving as the crisis director for the Red Hill Fuel Spill committee. Connor has been involved with both Model UN and PacMUN since his junior year of high school and hasn’t looked back since. This will be his fourth PacMUN and second as a crisis director. Outside of Model UN, he enjoys baking, running, writing, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and spending time with his pet bunnies (expect to see photos throughout the conference).

Second-Year StafferMadeline Ward is a third-year student at McGill University in Montreal, Canada studying Pharmacology and Therapeutics. She is a graduate of Little Flower Academy in Vancouver, British Columbia where she first became involved in Model UN, fostering a deep passion for debate. This is her second time staffing PacMUN.

Daniel van Schewick (SOCHUM)

Second-Year StafferDaniel van Schewick is a first-year at Stanford University, and is as of yet still deciding on a major. In 2024, he graduated from Henry M. Gunn High School, and has been on a gap year since. Daniel has been participating in Model UN since 8th grade, and began chairing at conferences his junior year. Since then, he's chaired at GMUNC, Saratoga MUN, PacMUN, and SCVMUN. Having attended PacMUN as a delegate his junior and senior year, and returning as a chair after his graduation, Daniel is excited to once again chair at PacMUN and help create an opportunity for everyone, regardless of skill level, to enjoy all that MUN has to offer. Outside of MUN, Daniel loves reading sci-fi (Ray Bradbury’s There Will Come Soft Rains is a favorite), lifting weights, and spending time at the beach in Santa Cruz, California.

First-Year StafferSophia Chen, or Sophie, is a first-year at the University of California, Santa Barbara majoring in physics with a concentration in education. She has been participating in Model UN since freshman year of high school, helping out with SCVMUN. This will be her first conference as a staffer instead of a delegate, and her fourth time participating in PacMUN. Otherwise, Sophie loves to travel and visit UNESCO heritage sites, compete in parkour, and watch horror game play-throughs (personal favorites being Still Wakes the Deep, Dead Space, and Little Hope)!

Raghav Kochar (JCC)

First-Year StafferRaghav Kochar is a first-year at De Anza College, majoring in chemistry; he aspires to pursue a future in medicine especially in the field of cardiothoracic surgery. Raghav was brought to MUN through his passion for youth involvement in worldly affairs alongside his burning desire to communicate (yap). Having been a delegate for the past three years at notable conferences like PacMUN, NHSMUN, SCVMUN, and RIMUN, he became eager to serve as staff and aid in the creation of the very MUN environment which brought him so many wonderful memories. Zoe Kim Nguyen (JCC)

First-Year StafferZoe Kim Nguyen, or simply Zoe, is a fourth-year at San José State University majoring in Behavioral Science. She is passionate about reducing recidivism and hopes to pursue a career in criminal justice reform. With over five years of experience in Model United Nations, including serving as a board member at Santa Teresa High School, Zoe does her best to make conferences fun and educational. This will be her first time serving as a staff member at PacMUN, though she has previously participated as a delegate. In her free time, Zoe enjoys working on her Honda Civic, building Lego sets, and baking 5 dozen cookies just for fun.

First-Year StafferAndrew Pomai Chang, or just Pomai, is a first-year at American University. He is majoring in American’s Interdisciplinary Studies: Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government program, with a minor in History. Pomai has participated in Model UN since his freshman year of high school as both delegate and crisis director. This will be his 3rd time attending PacMUN, and will be his first as a crisis director. Pomai also enjoys playing video games and keeping up with current events in his free time.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Kaylan first got involved in Model United Nations in high school and has since remained deeply engaged in the activity throughout college. She has participated as a delegate, chair, and crisis staffer for several years. This year marks Kaylan’s first time staffing PacMUN and her eighth year participating in MUN overall. Kaylan So (she/they) is a fourth year at UCLA, studying Political Science and Cognitive Science. First-Year StafferSophia Schultz is a first-year student at the University of Southern California, where she plans to major in communications. Raised on Oʻahu, she has been involved with Model UN since her freshman year of high school and has attended PacMUN three times as a delegate. This year marks her fourth time participating in PacMUN, and her first as a Crisis Director. Outside of Model UN, Sophia enjoys paddling, going to the beach, and exploring new hiking spots around the island.

First-Year StafferTristan Huntley is a second-year Political Science and Film and Television Minor student at UCLA. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he’s been involved in Model United Nations for the past year — serving as a crisis staffer, crisis dais staffer and now returning to PacMUN with excitement. Outside the committee room, Tristan is passionate about political advocacy, hiking, and rock climbing. When he’s not working a conference or writing a background guide, you’ll probably find him exploring new restaurants, off-roading, or hanging out with friends in ktown in LA.

Teddy Nguyen (UNESCO)

First-Year StafferTeddy Nguyen is a first-year at De Anza College, who was born and raised in San Jose, California. He will be serving as the chair of GA-4 UNESCO. Teddy has been engaged in MUN since his freshman year of High School, as well as been participating as a delegate in PacMUN all 4 years (including the year it went online). He is more than thrilled to be given the opportunity to chair and give back to a conference that has given so much to him these past 4 years. Outside of MUN, Teddy spends much of his time with his local Catholic Church, playing piano for mass and participating in youth group. He also spends time teaching children piano and tutors math and English. Teddy also enjoys spending time with his loved ones, playing with LEGO, and spending time with kids.

Keenan Yoshizawa (UNPFII)

First-Year StafferKeenan Yoshizawa is a third year student at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon double majoring in Politics, Policy, Law, and Ethics and History. Raised on the Windward Side of Oahu, Keenan attended Mililani High School. He has been a high school delegate to PacMUN for two years, and this is his first year chairing! This past spring, he completed a legislative internship at the Oregon House of Representatives, immersing himself in the operations of the legislative process.
