XV Secretariat
Alexa Lauryn and Daniel van Schewick are excited to serve as the Co-Secretaries General for PacMUN XV!
Alexa Lauryn
Alexa Lauryn is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree in Human Biology & Society, B.S., and a current Master’s student pursuing graduate studies in Public Health at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, striving to explore her passions in Bioethics. She previously attended Island School on the small, yet beautiful, island of Kauaʻi, in Hawaiʻi, on which she was born and raised. Alexa participated in Model United Nations throughout all four years of high school as a PacMUN delegate (with one year at NHSMUN), and has continued to serve as a PacMUN Chair throughout all four years of university. In addition to chairing PacMUN, she has also served as a Chair for UCLA’s high school and collegiate conferences, BruinMUN and LAMUN.
Entering her sixth year staffing PacMUN and tenth year participating overall, Alexa is incredibly excited to return and give back to the conference that has provided her with countless opportunities and experiences. Outside of Model United Nations, Alexa enjoys traveling and exploring different cities and cultures, keeping up with current events, discussing the Beatles at length, and visiting friends and family in and around Shanghai.
Daniel van
Schewick
Daniel van Schewick is a second year at Stanford University, and is as of yet still deciding on a major. In 2024, he graduated from Henry M. Gunn High School, and has been on a gap year since. Daniel has been participating in Model UN since 8th grade, and began chairing at conferences his junior year. Since then, he's chaired at GMUNC, Saratoga MUN, PacMUN, and SCVMUN. Having attended PacMUN as a delegate his junior and senior year, and returning as a Chair after his graduation, Daniel is excited to return once again to PacMUN and help create an opportunity for everyone, regardless of skill level, to enjoy all that MUN has to offer. Outside of MUN, Daniel loves reading sci-fi (Ray Bradbury’s “There Will Come Soft Rains” is a favorite), lifting weights, and spending time at the beach in Santa Cruz, California.
